Marshall County and the Kentucky Lake area have an unsurpassed
quality of life. Along with being located on a beautiful lake, our
small town communities combined with our 30 minute access to larger
communities and 2 to 3 hour access to major metropolitan areas, make
this an ideal place to live.
We have wonderful recreation parks,
public and private golf courses, award winning schools, many
churches, and an array of retail and restaurants available to our
residents.
Marshall County has several large
employers in and around our area which include chemical plants, a
large school system, several healthcare facilities and community
hospital and more which provide our residents with many employment
opportunities. Manufacturing (19.1%), Educational, health and social
services (17.2%), Retail trade (12.3%). Unemployment rate is 6.5%.
The school system in Marshall County
is outstanding! You just have to see it to believe it! We also have
several colleges and universities within close proximity to Marshall
County. These include Murray State University, Mid-Continent
University, and West Kentucky Community & Technical College.
Our extensive city and county park
systems provide walking trails, playgrounds, tennis courts,
basketball courts, picnic pavilions, fishing pond, ball fields, boat
ramps, and a Veteran’s Honor Plaza.
Marshall County has numerous civic
clubs and organizations that serve this community and are always open
to new members willing to “jump” right in and help out for a good
